Fort of Mumbai

2022 Mumbai. Reserve Store

The Starbucks Reserve Store in Mumbai, located in the iconic Fort area, marks a significant milestone in elevating India's coffee culture. Covering about 483 square meters, this thoughtfully designed space combines artisanal craftsmanship with innovative features to create a truly immersive experience for coffee enthusiasts.

The interiors pay homage to Mumbai's architectural heritage while embracing a modern aesthetic. Highlights include a floor-to-ceiling mural of the iconic Starbucks siren, created by local artists Sonal Vasave and Makarand Narkar, and an undulating sculpture by architect and artist Ankon Mitra. These elements blend seamlessly with the store's contemporary color palette, offering an eclectic yet cohesive design.

The store features two distinct coffee bars. The main bar serves classic and seasonal Starbucks beverages, while the second bar offers an exclusive selection of handcrafted drinks prepared using six brewing methods, including pour-over, Chemex, siphon, and Nitro Cold Brew. This dual setup not only showcases Starbucks' commitment to coffee innovation but also caters to diverse customer preferences.

A key design element is the monolithic terrazzo Reserve bar, handcrafted by local artisans, which anchors the space and adds a touch of timeless elegance. The material selection, including terrazzo, natural wood, and metal, reflects a balance of tradition and modernity, creating a warm and inviting environment.

This store is a collaboration between Starbucks Coffee Company and Tata Consumer Products Ltd., highlighting their commitment to sustainability, ethical sourcing, and community involvement. It reflects their goal of creating welcoming spaces that bring people together and celebrate coffee craftsmanship.
